For stadium lighting and arena lighting, the design should base on the form of the field and the needs of sports activities, comprehensively consider the lighting area, game area, illumination, uniformity, light source selection and energy efficiency, lamp style, as well as control system and safety protection measures and other aspects. In addition to the practicality, reliability, intelligence, energy saving and environmental protection and safety factors must also take into account.
As an important venue for sports events and activities, it is crucial for the design and manufacturing of the lighting system adopt high standards. Appropriate lighting can not only improve the use function and aesthetic effect of the venue, but also ensure the normal progress of the event, avoid problems such as uneven or excessive light affecting the vision and safety of athletes and spectators, and at the same time, the design concept of safety and environmental protection can also ensure the long-term and safe use of lighting facilities.
Stadium and Arena Lighting Design Principles
The core of stadium and arena lighting design is to reasonably select the light source, illuminance and light environment according to the needs of different types of venues and game activities to ensure the functionality, comfort and safety of the venue.
First of all, Stadiums and arenas are divided into indoor and outdoor field. Indoor venues, usually adopt the design principles of indoor lighting, but it should be fully considered that the stadiums are large buildings, generally with large indoor space and high internal height, and it is necessary to fully consider factors such as illuminance demand and lamp power. The illumination of indoor venues is generally installed on the top floor, partially installed on the wall, or supplemented by a high-pole lighting system. Outdoor sport fields, on the other hand, are usually open-air and do not have ceilings and walls where light fixtures can be installed, so high-mast lighting systems are generally used.
Secondly, the general factors and standards that need to be considered in design and production, are:
1. Illuminance requirement: illuminance refers to the luminous flux per unit area and is an important parameter in the lighting design of stadiums. Different types of physical activity have different requirements for control. For example, indoor basketball lighting and tennis lighting have higher requirements for contrast, while outdoor running tracks have relatively low requirements. According to the "Stadium Lighting Design Standard" (China Standard: GB 50034-2013), the illuminance value should be reasonably selected according to the scale and use of the venue. Generally speaking, the illumination of the competition venue is higher than that of the training venue. Outdoor venues are higher than indoor venues.
2. Uniformity and glare-free design: Stadium lighting should be designed to ensure that light is evenly distributed and avoid spots or shadows that can affect the performance of athletes and the visual experience of spectators. Homogeneous lighting not only improves the quality of the game, but also reduces eye fatigue. In addition, avoiding glare is also a key element in the design, especially for televised games, where it is critical to avoid light sources shining directly onto the lens.
3. Light source selection and energy efficiency: Arena lighting should be selected high-efficiency, long-life light source, such as LED flood light source. LED lighting not only has high energy efficiency and long service life, but also can effectively control illuminance and color temperature to improve the visual effect. At the same time, the LED light source has a higher color rendering index, which can present a more natural light color, reducing the difficulty of athletes to identify the color of the stadium field.
4. Lighting arrangement: The lighting arrangement of the stadium should be reasonably configured according to the structure and function of the stadium to ensure that the light covers the entire venue and meets the lighting standards. In indoor stadiums, luminaires generally need to be installed above the stadium and arranged at an angle to avoid shadows or reflected light. For outdoor venues, lamps need to consider environmental factors such as windproof and waterproof.
5. Intelligent control system: Large stadiums and arena have a large area and many lamps, so it is impossible to use a simple manual switch mode, and each lamp has to be manually turned on the switch. Therefore, a centralized control system is necessary. And because of the characteristics of sports activities, it is necessary to start or adjust the lighting system at any time according to the weather and light level in the venue, so intelligence has become a necessary attribute of the control system. In addition to hardware systems such as light poles and lamps, a set of automated and intelligent control software systems is also a standard configuration.
6. Safety protection measures: The lamps and lanterns installed in the stadium or arena are usually relatively large, so there are two aspects that need to be paid attention to in terms of safety. The first safety protection measures in terms of electricity consumption, various leakage protection and line protection are necessary; The second is that the lamps and lanterns should have the necessary anti-fall system, and the lamps and lanterns of the ceiling, the lamp stands and lamps of high mast lighting should be equipped with an anti-fall system.
In addition, outdoor high mast lighting, which is more prone to corrosion and rust than indoors, usually requires a higher level of anti-corrosion spraying measures for lampshades, mounting brackets and poles.
Hongrui was founded in the lighting business, and over the years the company has completed numerous municipal lighting projects, including lighting systems for stadiums. In the design and production process of each project, strict attention is paid to the above factors, and production is carried out in accordance with national standards. This year, the company has passed the certification of ISO3834 and EN1090, and has fully met the international standards in the welding of rods, and can provide customers with high-standard lighting rods and lighting systems.
